Each of these women brings unique expertise, passion, and innovation to the field, contributing to a movement that ensures AI reflects and serves diverse perspectives.

Dr. Tabatso Gina Moape

Dr. Tabatso Gina Moape is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of South Africa (UNISA). She is the founder of Rebao ICT Foundation and Youth Development, an organization committed to leveraging technology to empower and uplift young people, particularly in underserved communities. Her research focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and low-resource language technologies, with a strong interest in developing inclusive and accessible digital tools that bridge the gap between technology and marginalized groups.

Kevin Ziyada

Ms Kevin Ziyada Aseru is an Information Technology graduate, mobile developer, and UI/UX designer with a passion for using technology to solve real-world problems. She is interested in finding ways to improve the lives of underprivileged communities by tackling the challenges they face through tech-driven solutions.

Editah Hadassa

Edith is a Kenya-based business strategist, project manager, and AI specialist with a Master's in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing. With over a decade of experience, she empowers startups, corporates, and communities to grow with clarity, creativity, and confidence.

Abigael Manuel

Abigael is a graduate in Electrical and Computer Engineering with academic training in coding, computer graphics, networking, and foundational concepts in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently, working at Kuza Steam Generation, where she continues to build her technical and analytical skills. She has a strong interest in AI, particularly in the field of computer vision, and is committed to advancing her expertise to contribute to innovative and impactful technology solutions.

Dr. Jade Gesare Abuga

Dr. Jade Gesare Abuga is an accomplished Data Scientist and educator with a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cape Town and a Master's in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from the European Business University. With over a decade of teaching and research experience, she brings a unique blend of analytical depth and practical insight to the classroom. Dr. Abuga specializes in machine learning, computational fluid dynamics, and non-Newtonian fluid flow, with hands-on expertise in tools such as OpenFOAM and Python. Her research and professional interests lie at the intersection of data science and real-world problem-solving, including projects in fraud detection and risk prediction using machine learning techniques. She is passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders in STEM and AI. Her experience spans university-level instruction and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Olubusolami Sogunle

Olubusolami Sogunle is a software engineer and early-career researcher passionate about the intersection of language and technology, and its impact on society. She is particularly interested in exploring how AI can help bridge communication gaps in underserved communities. She is also keen on discussions around AI ethics, digital inclusion and their broader societal impact.
